With the 4th of July holiday festivities behind us, and the weather finally working in our favor, a tanker surfing charter that had already been rescheduled 3 times was finally a “GO”! Longtime friends Steve Levy and Johnny Carson, along with Johnny Carson III jumped aboard Capt. Fulby’s boat “Surf Bored” at 6am sharp at the launch at PlugĀ Nickel Point. The conditions were spectacular. The sun had yet to rise. Small talk ensued as we made our way out to the ship channel. When Steve casually mentioned to the Capt. he had nothing but bad luck, the question of bananas quickly came up. Luckily none were onboard and the trip continued. Steve’s luck was about to turn!
What happened next was nothing short of some kind of divine intervention. The tanker flood gates opened for these guys like never before…outbound—inbound… another inbound. It was crazy busy and every wave morsel was milked to capacity by the crew. They took turns riding brand new Walden Longboards supplied by the newest tankersurfcharters.com sponsor, Global Surf Industries.
Good weather, good tides, uncanny timing and the luck of the draw being in their favor with every ship made for a perfect experience for these lucky bastardos! Steve—you can NEVER say you are unlucky again. For that I say, “you’re welcome”. Come back soon y’all!
